Headstone, oval top - Cherub at centre top, with decorative swirls of drapery flowing either side of the cherub and part way down the sides. There is a footstone having several lines of faint illegible smallish text, all of the same size, possibly a biblical verse.
In memory of Catherine wife of William HAWKS who died 13 April 1806
[BR: "1806 23 Apr HAWKS Catherine 99yrs - aged upwards of 100 yrs.". See E32 - Edward HAWKS, her son, seems to have been born in 1749, when Catherine would have been 42 - rather old for a mother in those times, but she had another son, Thomas, three years later, when she would have been 45.
