Headstone - cross top, in white marble. There is possibly a very faint inscription across the horizontal portion of the cross, but it is now completely illegible. The main inscription is on the lower part of the headstone under the cross top.

In the 1851 census John Brown is aged 40 and was born at Wilcote. He is living in Neat Enstone with wife Fanny aged 37, born Witney. He is a farmer employing 17 labourers and lives with his son John aged 14 and six daughters aged from 13 down to 1 month, and 5 servants. In the 1841 census John & Fanny occupied Bridewell Farm, North Leigh.]
